Day 2 – Second Evening Game Drive

On our second game drive we worked hard to find little lion cubs that we had been tracking since our arrival. We had already seen the lions at night the night before hunting for food to bring back to her cubs. With the help of other groups at our camp, we found two lionesses and two baby cubs, both female. The baby cubs were so cute and they were playing with the mother and aunts tails and a ball of elephant dung. It was absolutely incredible to be in the den of these lions.

We also found ourselves in the middle of a huge herd of elephants, and found Marula (the leopard) again.

The staff sang and dance for us upon our arrival back to camp. Many members of the staff are related to one another and if they aren’t related, then most grew up all in the same village. You can really tell they love their job and each other and have passion in everything that they do.

When we returned from dinner tonight, there was an impala practically in our shower. We thought turning on the light or shooing it away would run it off, but it wouldn’t leave, so we each showered with the impala there.

Below are pictures of our drive and dinner.
